Our owner & founder, Ina Gumeniuc, is a flower enthusiast who founded Bloomie on the belief that gifting and receiving flowers can make us happier, by bringing genuine moments of joy into our lives and making the distance disappear, no matter how near or far we live from our loved ones.
Ina's entry into the world of floristry was born from a simple desire to have artistic, modern bouquets for her own home. Being disappointed to find nothing that fit her vision for an arrangement, she began purchasing flowers from the grocery store and putting them together herself, the way she envisioned. As she soon discovered, Ina wasn't the only one craving a fresh style in floral design. Before long, other people began asking to have one of Ina's bouquets in their own home. Prompted by these requests, Ina launched Bloomie with an online website, where she began taking orders. By the end of 2019, the number of orders outgrew the space in her home studio, and she decided to expand.
At the beginning of 2020, we opened a brick & mortar studio space in Hoboken, NJ, where our small team handcrafts artisan bouquets for local customers! Each bouquet we make is full of love and affection. We carefully design every order and hand-deliver it along with a hand-written card, which adds an invaluable personal touch to the flowers.
While we pour love and affection into our floral arrangements, we also make an effort to pour love back into the environment. It provides us with the beautiful flowers we use everyday, and because of this, we recognize the importance of a sustainable approach to floral design. We have instilled practices from the beginning that aligned with both environmental and human health. Sourcing locally, composting regularly, and avoiding the use of foam are just some of the ways that Bloomie consciously practices sustainability. Today, we are proud to say that we are a sustainable flower studio, offering a better option to our customers both for their homes and their conscience.
Meet Our Team
Founder & Lead Floral Designer
Ina’s passion for flowers started at her latest position, as marketing director in the country of Moldova, where she used to frequently organize events that centered around working with local florists. After moving to NYC in 2017, she quickly realized that the city was lacking sophisticated and refined flower arrangements, which prompted her to jump into action and turn her hobby into a full-fledged business. With a 7-year background in marketing and advertising, Ina’s passion is a great complement to her skillset.
She launched Bloomie in 2018 based on the belief that flowers are not just simply a gift or a decoration, but rather much more - an evocation of joy, well-being, beauty and sincerity.
Her favorite things, besides flowers, are brunches with friends and traveling. She also loves puppies and is dreaming to get one some day.
